Woodstock Youth Work Trust
Meeting twice a month for 11-18 year olds
The Buttery is a group that meets twice a month in the Buttery in Woodstock. All 11 - 18 year olds are welcome to drop in from 10.30 - 11.40 on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. This is led by the brilliant Matt Bodinham who heads up our local Woodstock Youth Work Trust. Why not try it and see?
What's WYWT all about?
Woodstock Youth Work Trust (WYWT) is a charity which exists to help teenagers in Woodstock and the surrounding area explore their own faith and spirituality to whatever extent they are comfortable with, and to provide care and support spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually where possible.
The project was pioneered by the calling of Matthew Bodinham, and has been set up in collaboration between Woodstock churches and the secondary school. St Mary Magdalene's is ably represented on the WYWT board of trustees by Chris Wallworth, also a member of our PCC. The whole church is excited by the work that Matt is doing to pioneer this kind of youth ministry and continues to support him.
Matt has lived in Woodstock and the surrounding area his whole life, and been involved in church life here since 1995. He has been involved in leadership and youth work since 2007, and in 2014 he graduated from Springdale College with a BTh(Hons) in Mission and Theology, specialising in Youth Work. Since then, Matt has been given a heart for Woodstock and to see Christian Youth Work happening in the community. He has been pioneering and is now working for WYWT.
The exciting thing about our logo is that it was made a year 11 student, Harry Rolfe, at Marlborough. This really promotes what we’re trying to do at Woodstock Youth Work Trust, and give teenagers from this community opportunities to explores their gifts and strengths. - MATT
