From The Rector
To prepare ourselves spiritually for the re-opening of St Mary Magdalene’s on November 9th, I am asking everyone who belongs to our church family to use the days leading up to the re-opening, beginning at November 1st (All Saints’ Day) as a special time of prayer. Roman Catholics call this a novena, nine days of focussed prayer. The format is simple:
The first verse of Psalm 127:
Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.
A time of silent meditation
A prayer of your own for the life of our church, for growth and for renewal
The Lord’s Prayer
It can be a time of day to suit you, on the bus, in bed, in the Park – wherever. But please join us. For our whole church family to be engaged in prayer for growth and renewal as we begin this new phase in the life of the church in this town will be wonderful. And it will make a difference.
